JCX Construction installs and maintains the erosion and sediment controls that construction sites in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex need to stay compliant. Rain moves loose soil, and sites are responsible for what leaves them.

What compliance looks like in the field

  • Silt fence and similar barriers on the downhill sides of disturbed ground
  • A stabilised entrance so trucks do not track mud onto the road
  • Inlet protection at storm drains near the site
  • Stabilisation of bare soil once work in an area is done
  • Inspection and repair, especially after heavy rain

Where it fits

SWPPP controls go in at the start of land clearing and site preparation, and they stay until the site is stabilised. Having the same crew that moves the dirt also manage the controls means they are placed where the dirt actually moves, and changed when the grading changes.

Who is responsible for what

The permit and the plan generally belong to the site owner and the party in control of the work. We do the physical part and tell you early if something on site is not matching the plan. We do not replace your engineer or your builder.

Talk to us before the first cut

Controls are cheapest before ground is disturbed. Call or send the form with the plan if you have one, and we will price what it takes to install and maintain the controls.

SWPPP Compliance questions we get asked

What is a SWPPP?

A Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan. It describes how a construction site keeps sediment and pollutants out of storm drains and waterways, usually with erosion and sediment controls such as silt fence, stabilised entrances, inlet protection and stabilising bare soil.

Does my project need one?

It depends on how much ground is disturbed and who is responsible for the site. In Texas, larger construction sites are generally covered by the state's construction general permit and need a plan, and smaller sites may have lighter requirements, while cities and counties can have their own rules. Ask your builder, engineer or city, and we will help you work out what the controls on your site need to be.

Do you write the plan?

The plan is usually prepared by the owner, the engineer or the general contractor. Our part is the field work: installing the controls on the plan, maintaining them, and fixing them after storms. If you are not sure who owns the plan on your project, ask us and we will help you find out.

What controls do you install?

Silt fence, stabilised construction entrances, inlet protection and similar measures, plus stabilising disturbed areas once work is finished. The plan decides what goes where.

Why does maintenance matter?

Controls fail. Silt fence gets knocked over, entrances get buried, and heavy rain overwhelms what was fine yesterday. Inspections and repairs through the build are what keeps a site compliant, not the day-one installation.
